What is required in my state?
The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) requires anyone who serves or sells alcoholic beverages of beer for on-premise consumption at a licensed establishment to obtain a server permit issued by the TABC. This process involves steps learners will need to take before and after taking ServSafe Alcohol Online Course and Exam, Tennessee.
Before taking the course learners need to apply for a Server Permit on the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) website to create an account on the Regulatory Licensing and Permitting System (RLPS) and obtain an RLPS ID number. The State of Tennessee offers step-by-step instructions for obtaining a Server Permit and RLPS#.
Upon successfully completing the course, learners need to immediately send an email to programcompliance@restaurant.org providing their:
First and last name
ServSafe Certificate number
Date of course and exam completion
Location (employer or city)
Following receipt, ServSafe will submit learner information to the TABC. Within 1 to 2 weeks, learners will receive notification from the TABC that their permit has been approved and will need to log in to their RLPS account to print their Server Permit.
