What is required in my state?

The state of Indiana requires employees serving alcohol to complete a server training program certified by the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission no later than 120 days from the date of hire. The ServSafe Alcohol Online course and Exam is an ATC-certified online alcohol server training.

In addition to completing a certified server training program, alcohol servers must obtain an Employee Permit from the ATC.

Steps for obtaining an Indiana ATC Employee Permit:

Step 1: Complete the ServSafe Alcohol Online Course and Exam.

Step 2: Register with or login to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA) MyLicense One platform. The state offers additional instructions about creating a MyLicense One account.

Step 3: Apply for an Employee Permit on MyLicense One (fees may apply). First-time applicants should select “Initial Application” to begin the application process. Current Employee Permit holders should select “Renew License” from their list of “Licenses”. Once approved, the Employee Permit will become available in MyLicense One.
