How is the ServSafe Person in Charge – Ohio Certificate different from the Manager and Food Handler Certificates?
ServSafe Manager Certificate: Meets both the manager and Person in Charge (PIC) requirements.
ServSafe Food Handler Certificate: Does not meet Ohio’s PIC requirements. However, if you hold a Food Handler (Level 1) certificate dated 3-31-2020 or earlier, you are still compliant with OPIC, as these certificates do not expire.
Exams: The Manager and Food Handler certificates require passing an exam, while the Person in Charge course does not.
